Gio’s Lions Youth Soccer Club was founded by Savino Leon in the East Side of Chicago with the belief that soccer should build opportunity, family, and character—not be driven by money. Serving families from the East Side and South Side of Chicago, the South Suburbs, and Northwest Indiana, our club is committed to developing young players regardless of socioeconomic background. While we are family-based at our core, we also provide a high-level competitive environment. Our teams compete in top regional leagues such as the NPL and NISL, which consistently place our players in college-focused showcases and high-visibility events attended by college coaches. These leagues and showcases give our athletes meaningful exposure while challenging them against strong competition. Through this pathway, we focus on long-term development, accountability, and respect—on and off the field—while honoring Gio’s legacy and playing for something bigger than ourselves. We Play for Gio!
